Dove: Beauty is all in the Mind!

According to a first-of-its-kind social experiment conducted by Dove revealed that an alarming 80% of women feel hesitant to share the way they look, the study highlights how the right state of mind can unlock the powerful feeling of beauty that lives inside majority of women. The results are documented in the short film Dove: Patches on dove.pk/patches .
The documentary was revealed globally in 58 countries including Pakistan. At the launch event held at Verde Bistro Cafe to illustrate the Social Experiment, notable bloggers and influencers were invited among  successful women who encapsulate the terms ‘beauty’ and ‘strength’.
The Dove: Patches experiment was guided by psychologist and New York Times best-selling author, Dr. Ann Kearney-Cooke (Ph.D., Counseling Psychology) who has spent thirty years conducting scientific research around women’s body image and self-esteem.
During the experiment Dr. Kearney-Cooke invited the participants to wear a custom-made “beauty patch” for two weeks, which – would help them feel more beautiful.  The women were then invited to keep a personal account of their life-changing experience throughout the two week period. All the women agreed that wearing the “beauty patch” helped to improve their self-esteem and to change their personal lives in ways that they had not imagined.
At the end of the experiment, however, it is revealed that the “beauty patch” contained nothing and that the power of believing in their own beauty influenced feeling beautiful.
This first of its kind experiment designed to illustrate that beauty is a state of mind and that the power to feel beautiful comes from within. Aisha Randhawa, a notable blogger present at the event said after watching the Dove: Patches video, “I really feel beauty is within, one just needs to identify the strengths and focus on positives of life. Dove: Patches is a brilliant experiment, it makes you realize that beauty really is a state of mind.”

GEO and A&B Productions invites Humayun to Bashar Momin?

Yesterday I found this interesting blog on the page of A& B productions that proclaimed that GEO and A&B Productions welcomed Humayun Saeed at the Bashar Momin Launch! The news goes on as:
hs11    u1 fq
Geo and A & B Productions gave a warm welcome to Humayun Saeed when he graced the curtain raiser of “Bashar Momin” on March 11, 2014 at the Pearl Continental Hotel. The idea had been to celebrate the launch of the drama with its cast and crew along with some prominent socialites and media members.
HS
Now we know that wherever there are celebrities there are gossips and one such that we have been hearing for the past few days is that of the unexpected arrival of a certain famous and well renowned actor and producer Humayun Saeed at the curtain raiser of “Bashar Momin”. A quick recall states the flurry of news and stories that initially he had arrived uninvited and later invited (by Ushna) to the “Bashar Momin” launch.

On the one hand we can safely say that Humayun Saeed’s entrance at the Bashar Momin curtain raiser, though was a matter of speculation for most, according to him, was based on the idea of fraternizing and mingling with other members of media. It is known that those owning separate media and production houses tend to keep to themselves due to a varying array of projects on hand etc. so the idea of getting together with other producers to celebrate their success may be unique but not unknown, after all Humayun Saeed himself did take the time out of his own hard schedule to come in good will and celebrate with the team of Bashar Momin and mingled with the cast and crew there.

On the other hand we have word or rather words from Faisal Querishi, that he, though pleasantly surprised at Humayun Saeed’s  arrival, had, himself, not extended many invitations to the fraternity, and though this unexpected arrival did create a stir amongst the media masses there, he (FQ) did welcome him warmly and had greeted him with openness and a friendly manner.
To the point that even, the director of “Bashar Momin”, Syed Ali Raza Osama, also stated that for him it was a pleasant surprise to see Humayun Saeed there. He stated that, though during the time of “Main Hoon Shahid Afridi” he had not received an invite for the premiere by Humayun Saeed himself even though he had directed the movie, Ali Raza clearly buried the hatched and was glad to see him.

So, keeping all this in mind, the air is filled with a slight confusion as to who did what and who exactly invited who to the launch! Ultimately, Bashar Momin has definitely become the talk of the town, and its popularity can be noted growing day by day, via Television ratings and Social Media forums that show a clear view of the success that this drama will have!

Is Ragini MMS2 banned ?

‘Ragini MMS 2’ that created a buzz in the industry is reportedly banned in selected parts of the country.
According to The Express Tribune, the film has been banned in the province of Punjab. Deputy Chairman of Punjab Censor Board Usman Peerzada said “This is the first film that I have had to outrightly ban because it was essentially pornography. It has profanity. There was no space for cutting, It was not worthy of screening altogether.”
On the other hand, Ragini MMS2 has been certified for screening from Sindh Board of Film Censors (SBFC) and Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in Sindh and Islamabad. Despite certification from the film boards, many cinemas including Atrium and Centaurus Cineplex have chosen not to screen the film.
Speaking HIP, Anita Kenneth of Atrium Cinemas said that the film was not the kind of material they was associated with their cinema.
Cinemas in Sindh are reportedly running a 116-minute-long edited version while cinemas in Islamabad are running a 121-minute-long edited version.
